Extension: Day Trip to Taif

about the experience

The perfect rural escape, Taif offers a temperate climate within the picturesque Sarawat mountains. You will quickly see why it is the seasonal residence of the Kingdom's royalty. The lush greenery is home to the region's famed produce of roses, grapes, figs, and honey, while the rocky and mountainous scenery host a vast nature reserve to explore.

  • Taking approximately 2-hours by car, Taif makes a good day trip from Jeddah
  • The cooler climate means Summer is a lovely time to visit
  • A magnet for lovers of the outdoors, this year-round destination also brings in foodies and culture hunters. From its rose farms to the epic collection of the Sharif Museum, Taif offers something for everyone

In the morning you will be met and driven in a private sedan (or similar) to Taif, a journey which takes approximately 2 hours by car.

Taif offers a glimpse into Saudi Arabian heritage through its vibrant souks and traditional markets. Explore the bustling streets lined with shops selling traditional handicrafts, textiles, and spices. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere as you haggle for unique treasures and immerse yourself in the local culture.

Other highlights include Al Mazghadiyah, Addas Farm, Al Madhoun Mosque, Al Sharif Musuem and a unique meal in a local restaurant. After dinner, you will be driven back to Jeddah.

Please note, the Rose harvest falls between March-April. However, Taif is famed for its fresh produce and Roam can arrange multiple farm visits including strawberry, grape, figs, and peach.

All of Roam's packages can be tailor-made to clients' exact requirements. Whether guests want to fly to Riyadh for a city break, or spend more time in Jeddah, contact a Roam Travel Designer to start planning your trip.
